Bring your hobby, ditch your phone in the basket, and play. Release the constant pressure to perform — engage in the pure joy of making. Your phone goes in the basket. That's it. That's the rule. Unplug & Play is a space for adults who remember what it felt like to make something just because it was fun — and want to find their way back. No performance. No product. No audience. Just you, some art supplies, and a room full of people who are also giving themselves permission to be a little silly, a little quiet, or a little messy. Bring your own art project, knitting, sketchbook, or craft — or just show up and dive into what's on the table. Either way, you're welcome here. This is inner child work in the truest sense — not talking about your inner child, but actually letting them show up. Parts of you that got good at being productive, efficient, and constantly available get a night off. The part of you that used to doodle in the margins? They're running the show tonight.
Unplug & Play is especially for:
Neurodivergent folks who thrive in unstructured creative flow
Creative professionals exhausted by performance culture and the pressure to monetize every spark
Anyone whose relationship with their phone feels… complicated
Quiet and shy people who want real human connection in a contained, low-pressure way
The quiet rebels who feel something being stolen — attention, presence, imagination — and want it back.
Led by Evangeline Healy, CA LMFT #159946
Supported by a suggested $15 donation to Industrial Street Studios, going directly toward developing this community classroom space. Pre-sign up not required. Just come! :)
Every other Thursday (next session is Thursday, July 16)
7-9pm
